About
Us

Training Hubs are designed to be multidisciplinary networks of education and service providers working to support the development of the current and future general practice workforce.

The North-West Training Hubs foster collaborative working and learning across regions and disciplines. They support workforce planning and development, provide education programme coordination, and ensure quality of education, aiming to achieve a workforce excellently equiped to meet the present and future needs of our populations. At present the three regional Hubs focus on projects of both national and local educational and workforce priorities, namely: workforce placements, return to practice, apprenticeships, preceptorships, fellowships and others.

Our Regional Training Hubs

Chesire and Merseyside Training Hub

The Cheshire and Merseyside Primary Care Academy supports the education and learning needs of the multi-disciplinary primary care team, considering all ‘out of hospital’ care workforce requirements. The Primary Care Academy is a vehicle for workforce transformation and sits at the heart of general practice through its six Training Hubs that are based in the communities across Cheshire and Merseyside.

Lancashire and South Cumbria Training Hub

Lancashire and South Cumbria Training Hub is made up of 5 Locality Training Hubs that match the ICP footprints – Fylde Coast, Morecambe Bay, Pennine Lancashire, West Lancashire and Greater Preston, Chorley and South Ribble. The Hubs work together to form a multidisciplinary team of clinical and administrative professionals supporting Primary Care teams across the patch and promoting the positive impact of diversifying primary care roles.

Greater Manchester Training Hub

The Greater Manchester Training Hub (GMTH) is a partnership of four locality training hubs, collaborating to ensure full coverage of Greater Manchester. The GMTH co-operate with the North West Training Hubs to establish across the board standards and procedures. Each locality training hub in Greater Manchester is guided by an experienced clinical lead, offering access to multi-professional learning, development and experience.
